Location : “The project is located on the northern side of King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah city, from the intersection of the Haramain Road to the pilgrims’ lounges.”
Scope Of Work :
- Design and implementation of expanding the road leading to the pilgrims’ complex to become three lanes instead of two in each direction, with a length of (11.4) kilometers, according to the results of the traffic study.
- Design and implementation of Sorting Point No. (14) along with its associated facilities.
- Design and implementation of Security Gate No. (17).
- Redesign and implementation of the central bus station to accommodate at least 2500 buses.
- Design and implementation of employee parking lots for Security Gate No. (17) with a capacity of at least 2500 cars.
- Design and implementation of security mesh replacement works.
- Design and implementation of electrical, mechanical, and special systems works for roads, gates, parking lots, and bus stations.
- Design and implementation of directional and warning signs on roads inside and outside buildings, gates, sorting points, and parking lots for cars and buses.
Road Works Design :
Objective: Achieving safety and smooth flow in the bus entry movement to serve the operational process and prevent traffic congestion.
Steps:
- Study the statistics related to the numbers of pilgrims for previous years and the expected numbers for upcoming years (traffic study).
- Determine the number of lanes on the road leading to the pilgrims’ complex based on the traffic study.
- Identify the locations of Sorting Point No. (14) and Security Gate No. (17), and the number of lanes for the road at each of these points.
- Find practical solutions for the intersections along the road to the pilgrims’ lounge.
